😄Marco Rubio Recalls Bizarre Air Force One Scare After Officials Feared Passenger Was Dead

Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed an unusual incident aboard Air Force One in which senior officials spent approximately 90 minutes uncertain whether a sleeping passenger aboard the presidential aircraft might be experiencing a medical emergency.

Rubio recounted the episode during an appearance on the Katie Miller Podcast, describing how officials returning from China discovered a person unresponsive in a conference room. The individual appeared to show little reaction to surrounding activity and noise, prompting concerns among staff members.

What Happened Aboard the Aircraft

Officials faced an awkward decision: attempt to wake the person, contact a medical professional, or allow them to continue sleeping undisturbed. “If they were dead, like what do you do?” Rubio recalled asking colleagues during the deliberation.

Rubio noted the individual’s breathing pattern seemed unusual and the person remained unresponsive to external stimuli. Despite these observations, officials did not immediately summon a physician or attempt to wake the passenger.

The identity of the person involved remains undisclosed, and Rubio provided no information identifying who was sleeping in the conference room. Social media users subsequently offered theories about the passenger’s identity, though no evidence supports those claims.

The Resolution and Aftermath

The situation eventually resolved without incident, “Luckily, the person was fine,” Rubio said. The episode highlighted an unusual scenario that could occur aboard the presidential aircraft when medical uncertainty coincides with reluctance to disturb a sleeping individual.

The disclosure comes after previous scrutiny of Rubio regarding sleep-related incidents involving high-ranking officials. During a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu questioned whether Rubio had witnessed President Donald Trump falling asleep during meetings.

Rubio stated he had never personally seen Trump sleep, describing the president as maintaining a demanding schedule with frequent early-morning communications. Lieu later disputed the characterization, claiming video evidence showed Trump with eyes closed during a Cabinet meeting.

Official Response

The Air Force One incident appeared distinct from previous political disputes about alertness during official proceedings. Rubio’s account centered on an ordinary occurrence that became alarming due to staff inability to assess a passenger’s condition.

The event provided a rare window into unexpected situations occurring aboard the presidential aircraft. For Rubio and his colleagues, what began as an awkward question transformed into a prolonged period of uncertainty before reaching resolution.
