Doocy: Trump Will Be Traveling A Lot In October, ‘Possibly A Trump Rally A Day’

Republicans are heading into the 2026 midterm elections with a historically unprecedented financial advantage, as the Senate Leadership Fund and affiliated groups raise more than $500 million to defend and expand their Senate majority.

The fundraising haul represents the largest amount ever assembled for a Senate-focused political effort, according to SLF leadership. The organization alone has committed more than $350 million to supporting Republican candidates across contested Senate races.

The Financial Landscape

Republicans are targeting critical contests in Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Michigan and North Carolina, while positioning resources in additional battleground states. The massive financial advantage is designed to counter traditional midterm headwinds that historically hurt the party holding the White House.

“Thanks to Leader John Thune and our generous investors, Senate Leadership Fund and its affiliated groups have raised more resources than any other Senate effort in history,” SLF Executive Director Alex Latcham said in a statement. The funding disparity stands in sharp contrast to Democratic efforts, as the Democratic National Committee was forced to use its headquarters building as collateral for a $15 million loan during the summer.

Trump’s Campaign Role

President Trump is expected to play a significant role in the midterm push, with reports suggesting he could conduct as many as one rally per day in competitive states and districts throughout October. Trump is framing the midterms as a direct reflection on his administration’s record, urging Republicans to present the election as a continuation of his agenda.

“If Democrats win control of the House or the Senate, it’s just going to be constant investigations,” according to analysis of Trump’s positioning. Republicans plan to use economic concerns and immigration as central messaging themes against Democratic candidates across the campaign.
