U.S. embassies in West Africa, Europe, and North Africa have dismantled networks accused of coaching foreign nationals on how to fraudulently obtain visitor visas for the purpose of giving birth in the United States.

The State Department coordinated with local authorities to identify and shut down the operations, which involved multiple companies allegedly helping visa applicants prepare for interviews and arrange U.S. childbirth logistics. The Daily Wire first reported the existence of these networks.

What Investigators Found

A U.S. embassy in Europe identified more than 400 suspected birth tourism cases dating back to 2024, linking the activity to at least six companies coaching applicants and coordinating travel plans. State Department officials revoked the visas involved and imposed permanent travel bans on several individuals accused of participating in the scheme.

A U.S. embassy in North Africa revoked more than 100 visas issued to individuals accused of traveling to the United States specifically to give birth. Consular officers partnered with law enforcement agencies and used data analysis tools to identify the networks.
