President Donald Trump received a clean bill of health from his White House physician following an extensive medical evaluation at a military hospital on Tuesday.

Dr. Sean Barbabella conducted the comprehensive examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which included CT scans, cardiac imaging, cancer screenings, and consultations with 22 medical specialists over approximately three hours. The evaluation was released Friday by the White House.

What the Examination Found

Trump, 79, weighed 238 pounds during the visit, representing a 14-pound increase from his April 2025 physical, with a body mass index of 29.7. The president demonstrated strong cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological health with no significant abnormal findings, according to the physician’s report.

“His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” Barbabella wrote in the evaluation. Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, matching results from previous evaluations.

His total cholesterol measured 143, down significantly from 223 in 2018. Physicians documented minor bruising on Trump’s hands, attributing it to “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking” and noting it as “a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy.”

Chronic Conditions Addressed

The White House previously disclosed that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a common age-related condition causing blood to pool in the legs. This year’s examination showed slight lower-leg swelling, though physicians noted improvement since the previous evaluation.

Barbabella recommended switching to low-dose aspirin as part of the president’s ongoing treatment plan.

Context and Timing

This marks the fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation since Trump returned to office for his second term. The release comes as the administration seeks to demonstrate the president’s fitness ahead of the midterm election cycle.

Trump, who turns 80 next month, was the oldest person ever elected president at the time of his 2024 election. His predecessor, President Joe Biden, left office at age 82 after ending his reelection campaign amid concerns about his age and fitness for another term.

Presidential health disclosures remain a matter of public interest, though no legal requirement mandates presidents release complete medical records. Administrations from both parties have historically chosen their level of transparency regarding medical information.
