CNN Highlights Poll Showing Trump’s Strong Support Among MAGA Base…@#@

A new NBC News poll shows Donald Trump holding a 100% approval rating among supporters who identify with the MAGA movement, according to data presented by CNN analyst Harry Enten.

Enten highlighted the result during an appearance on CNN News Central, describing it as a statistical outlier that stands apart from typical polling data. He compared Trump’s unanimous backing within that voter segment to the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team to complete an undefeated season and win the Super Bowl.

What the Data Shows

“Sometimes you look at the polling data and there are numbers that just jump off the screen at you,” Enten said. “And this is one of those.”

The analyst noted that while some Republicans disapprove of Trump, they do not identify with the MAGA movement itself. “If you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump,” Enten said, indicating near-total alignment within that faction of the Republican base.

Approximately 30% of Americans now identify with the MAGA movement, Enten said, up from 28% in November 2024. The increase suggests the base is expanding rather than shrinking.

Questions About Support Durability

CNN anchor Sara Sidner asked whether recent military action against Iran has caused any fractures in Trump’s MAGA support, noting that some conservative commentators have criticized the operation. Enten said polling data shows no signs of erosion in backing for Trump.

“That 100% that Donald Trump has among MAGA GOP, that is not an artifact of MAGA shrinking,” Enten said. “It’s just an indication of how strong Donald Trump’s grip is on that MAGA base.”

Polling from multiple sources shows strong Republican backing for the military action, with a Quinnipiac University survey finding 85% of Republicans support the effort. A YouGov-Economist poll found 91% of MAGA voters specifically back the operation, despite some high-profile GOP figures expressing concerns.

Long-Term Movement Strength

Enten has previously warned that the MAGA movement will likely persist beyond Trump’s tenure in office. “It’s not just about Donald Trump. It’s about the Make America Great Again movement,” Enten said in February remarks to Sidner.

The analyst emphasized that polling indicates the MAGA base remains energized and positioned to maintain influence within the Republican Party structure regardless of Trump’s future political involvement.
