President Donald Trump has appointed Pam Bondi to a role on a White House artificial intelligence advisory panel weeks after firing her as Attorney General, according to a report.

Bondi will join the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, known as PCAST, which shapes administration policy on emerging technologies and scientific research. The council operates under the leadership of David Sacks, a former White House AI adviser, and Michael Kratsios, the White House science adviser.

Bondi’s position will reportedly involve coordinating communication between government officials and technology executives on the panel. The panel includes leaders from major tech companies, including Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.

New Role and Responsibilities

In addition to the AI panel appointment, Bondi will assume a newly created advisory position focused on national infrastructure, though details about that role remain sparse.

Vice President JD Vance issued a statement about Bondi’s return to the administration. “Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces,” Vance said.

Background and History

Bondi has maintained a close political relationship with Trump for nearly a decade. She endorsed him during the 2016 Republican presidential primary over Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

Bondi served on Trump’s legal defense team during his first impeachment trial in 2020. Her appointment to the AI council marks her return to the White House after her recent departure from the Justice Department.

Reports indicate that Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after leaving the Attorney General position. She has undergone treatment and is currently in recovery.
