ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live Off Air Without Explanation….##

ABC abruptly pulled “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from its Thursday night broadcast without offering any public explanation for the sudden decision.

Viewers tuning in expected Kimmel’s opening monologue but instead saw a rerun from October 28. An audience member claiming to have tickets for Thursday’s taping shared an email from the show’s audience department stating, “Tonight’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live has been postponed. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

The network has remained silent on the reason for the halt. Industry publication Late Nightery reported the cancellation stemmed from “a personal matter,” though ABC declined to confirm this account.

A Pattern of Unexpected Breaks

This marks the second abrupt departure for the long-running program in recent months. Kimmel, who typically records his show Monday through Thursday at 4:30 p.m. PST, has rarely missed broadcasts during his 22 years hosting.

In September, ABC suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after Kimmel made controversial remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination. “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said on air.

Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group subsequently pulled the program from dozens of ABC affiliates, calling Kimmel’s comments “ill-timed and insensitive.”

Kimmel’s Return and Response

When Kimmel returned a week after the suspension, he delivered an emotional statement referencing Charlie Kirk’s widow. “On Sunday, Erika Kirk forgave the man who shot her husband. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow,” he told the audience, describing her actions as an example others should follow.

The host has taken breaks from his show for personal reasons in the past. Earlier this year, he missed a single taping following the birth of his granddaughter.

In 2017, Kimmel took a week off after his newborn son, Billy, underwent emergency heart surgery. He later shared updates about his son’s recovery on social media, crediting medical professionals for Billy’s healthy development.

As of Friday morning, ABC had not issued an official statement regarding when “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” would resume new episodes.
