A second Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance’s protective detail has been placed on administrative leave as internal affairs investigates suspected disclosure of sensitive operational information.

The suspected leak involves details about a planned Marine Corps helicopter flight that appeared in a July 15 news story. The Secret Service, FBI, and White House identified a suspected source within Vance’s detail after the operational information became public, leading to the cancellation of the scheduled flight.

The Pattern of Breaches

This marks the second suspected leak from Vance’s protective detail in six months. In January, a Biden-era hire identified as Tomas Escotto was caught on video disclosing sensitive information about the Vice President’s protective detail to a woman he believed was a romantic interest.

Escotto admitted voting for Biden and opposing Trump’s immigration enforcement. He discussed protective formations, shift schedules, travel plans, and real-time locations before his clearance was suspended and access to agency systems was revoked.
