Former Vice President Kamala Harris has canceled three scheduled California book tour appearances for April, with organizers citing a scheduling conflict.

Harris withdrew from events in Sacramento, San Diego, and Anaheim that were set for next month, according to Ticketmaster notifications sent to ticketholders. The cancellations come as Harris continues promoting her memoir “107 Days” following her loss to President Trump in the 2024 election.

Cancellation Details

The canceled events, billed as “A Conversation with Kamala Harris,” were originally scheduled for April 4 in Sacramento, April 6 in San Diego, and April 10 in Anaheim. Harris remains scheduled to appear in Denver, Colorado, on April 2 and has additional tour dates planned in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia later in April.

The three California appearances have been removed from Harris’s official website, and it remains unclear whether they will be rescheduled. Harris last appeared at a book tour event in Oakland on March 3.

Security Cost Questions

The cancellations occur as Harris’s book tour continues with security provided by the California Highway Patrol. According to KCRA reporting, dozens of Highway Patrol officers have been reassigned since September to accompany Harris during her travels.

State officials have not disclosed how many officers are assigned to Harris or the total taxpayer cost of her security detail. “All I know is it’s a lot, it is a significant amount of money,” Republican Assemblyman Tom Lackey, a retired CHP officer with 28 years of service, told KCRA.

Tour Schedule Going Forward

Harris has previously held four California book tour events, including two appearances in Los Angeles, one in San Francisco, and the recent Oakland stop. Her upcoming tour includes events scheduled in Greensboro and Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Columbia, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia.
