Owner Of California ‘Trump House’ Fighting For Life After Brutal Attack…

Author:

Kerry Sheron, a Southern California Army veteran whose home became known as the “Trump House” for its patriotic displays, is in critical condition after being brutally assaulted outside his residence.

The 69-year-old was attacked Wednesday near the intersection of East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street in San Diego County. Officers responding to reports of an assault in progress found Sheron with catastrophic injuries.

What Happened

A utility worker who witnessed the attack intervened and helped restrain the suspect until police arrived at the scene. Authorities arrested suspect Joshua Butler, who fled after the assault but was quickly located and apprehended.

Butler is being held without bail at the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County. A friend told the California Post that Butler is a Navy veteran struggling with serious mental health issues.

Family’s Response

Sheron’s wife, Maria Garcia, told CBS 8 that her husband’s survival prospects are extremely poor. “He tried to kill my husband, you know,” Garcia said. “It’s terrible. I don’t know what kind of hate… what heart, the black heart.”

Garcia suggested the visible patriotic decorations on the home may have motivated the attack. “They don’t like the flags. I don’t know why. I support America,” she told reporters.

Political Context

The residence has been decorated for years with American flags, patriotic imagery, and pro-Trump displays, making it one of the most recognizable private homes in the San Diego area. The home has attracted both supporters and critics throughout its prominence in the community.

While police have not publicly confirmed a motive, Garcia believes the attack may have been politically motivated. California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa called for a swift investigation, stating on X that supporters are “routinely the victims of leftist violence all across the country.”

Investigators have not publicly established whether politics played any role in the alleged attempted killing. The home had previously been targeted with vandalism and complaints due to its highly visible political messaging.
