CNN Highlights Poll Showing Trump’s Strong Support Among MAGA Base

A new NBC News poll cited by CNN data analyst Harry Enten shows President Donald Trump holds a perfect approval rating among his core Make America Great Again supporters.

Enten presented the findings during an appearance on CNN News Central, describing the result as one of the most striking numbers in recent polling data. He compared Trump’s standing among MAGA voters to the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team to achieve an undefeated season and Super Bowl victory.

What the Data Reveals

“Sometimes you look at the polling data and there are numbers that just jump off the screen at you,” Enten said. “And this is one of those.”

The analyst noted that Republicans who disapprove of Trump do not identify with the MAGA movement. “If you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump,” Enten said.

Enten’s analysis included data showing approximately 30% of Americans now identify with the MAGA movement, up from 28% in November 2024, indicating the base is expanding rather than shrinking.

Support for Military Operations

Anchor Sara Sidner asked whether recent criticism from some pro-Trump commentators about military action against Iran signals weakening support within the MAGA base.

Enten said polling shows no erosion in Trump’s approval. “That 100% that Donald Trump has among MAGA GOP is just an indication of how strong Donald Trump’s grip is on that MAGA base,” he said.

A Quinnipiac University poll found 85% of Republicans support military action against Iran, while a YouGov-Economist poll showed 91% of MAGA voters back the effort. Some Trump allies, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, have publicly questioned the operation.

Long-Term Movement Strength

Enten warned in February that the MAGA movement will remain influential within the Republican Party beyond Trump’s time in office. When asked about the movement’s long-term influence on the GOP, he emphasized the distinction between Trump and the broader movement he represents.

“It’s not just about Donald Trump. It’s about the Make America Great Again movement,” Enten said.
