20 MIN AGO: Senior Commanders Break Silence — Support Withheld from Trump!….

Author:

Dozens of current and former military commanders released a joint letter raising concerns about national security decision-making, marking an unusual break from the armed forces’ tradition of political neutrality.

The statement, signed by 38 active-duty and retired officers including seven four-star generals, was unveiled at the National Press Club in Washington. The move has sparked significant debate about the relationship between civilian leadership and military independence.

Breaking Military Tradition

The U.S. military has long adhered to strict cultural norms requiring senior officers to remain politically neutral in public. Public criticism of civilian leadership from high-ranking commanders is exceptionally rare and typically signals serious tensions.

Historians view such statements as indicators that disagreements between military and civilian leadership have reached critical levels. The rarity of these public statements underscores the significance of the commanders’ decision to speak out.

Specific Concerns Raised

The commanders cited three incidents they believe demonstrate troubling patterns in decision-making. The first involved the withdrawal of troops from a Middle East intelligence position in October without prior consultation with field commanders.

A second incident concerned the delay of a NATO-related training exercise designed to maintain military readiness and strengthen alliances. The third alleged incident involved a directive that postponed emergency equipment shipments to a military base pending commanders’ participation in a public event supporting administration policies.

Military analysts said such allegations-if verified-could raise questions about whether operational decisions were influenced by political considerations rather than strategic necessity.

Reported Consequences

According to accounts referenced in the letter, a military base faced hostile fire while waiting for delayed defensive equipment. Three service members reportedly sustained injuries during this period.
