THE “SISTER’S GARDEN” DIG — “WE FOUND THE REMAINS!”

Author:

The baffling disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, 84-year-old mother of NBC’s “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, escalated into an abduction investigation following her vanishing from her Tucson, Arizona home on January 31, 2026. The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Office are actively involved. A startling development emerged: authorities reportedly uncovered disturbing evidence during searches of family properties, focusing particularly on the garden area behind the home of Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, where neighbors had noted “disturbed ground.”

Forensic teams, using ground-penetrating radar, reportedly discovered “physical evidence,” including a “tattered blue fabric,” buried three feet under rose bushes in Annie Guthrie’s garden. This material is believed to connect directly to Nancy’s final hours and potentially to “Blue Folder” secrets. Annie’s residence is significant as Nancy had dined there the evening she disappeared, before Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at her nearby Catalina Foothills home.

The broader investigation includes blood traces on Nancy’s porch, signs of forced entry, and surveillance footage of a masked figure tampering with her Google Nest doorbell. A distinctive black glove with male DNA, matching the suspect, was found two miles away. While immediate family members are cleared, the garden discovery adds critical layers, potentially linking to theories of staging or disposal. The family’s emotional appeals highlight Nancy’s pacemaker-dependent condition, making time critical. This tragic case continues, with the garden now a pivotal source of potential clues.
