The investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old **Nancy Guthrie** in **Catalina Foothills** has reportedly become strained due to a high-profile jurisdictional conflict. Nearly two weeks after Guthrie vanished on January 31, officials at the **Federal Bureau of Investigation** (**FBI**) are expressing visible frustration over actions allegedly taken by the **Pima County Sheriff’s Office** (**PCSO**).
According to reports, Sheriff **Chris Nanos** has denied the **FBI** access to crucial physical evidence, including a glove and **DNA** gathered from the scene, requested for processing at the bureau’s national crime lab in **Quantico**, Virginia. Instead, Nanos insists on using a private contractor in **Florida**, a decision that has reportedly cost the county $200,000. Because the **PCSO** maintains primary jurisdiction, this decision is legally delaying the **FBI**’s ability to assist fully in the increasingly troubled case.
