Police Return To Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Search Nearby Wooded Area

Federal agents, including K-9 units, descended upon the Tucson, Arizona, residence of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie—mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie—on Wednesday night. Agents collaborated with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to conduct systematic searches of the garage and adjacent wooded areas. The intensified activity follows the elderly woman’s disappearance since Saturday, which law enforcement is treating as a crime due to evidence of forced entry and blood spatter at the scene. President Donald Trump has also instructed federal resources to aid the investigation.

Amid the active search, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings made a public, emotional plea regarding media reports of potential ransom demands. They confirmed they are “ready to talk” but stressed the absolute necessity of receiving proof that Nancy Guthrie is alive, citing heightened concern over her age and need for daily medication. Although Sheriff Chris Nanos maintains a belief that she is still alive, authorities have yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest in the case, which remains active with federal partners.
