White House Physician Releases Trump Health Update

President Donald Trump’s physician released a comprehensive health report following his latest physical examination, documenting his weight, cognitive performance, and overall medical status.

The examination, Trump’s fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation since returning to office for his second term, included a full physical workup and cognitive screening. Physicians documented Trump’s current weight at 238 pounds, representing a 14-pound increase from his April 2025 physical.

What the Report Found

At 6 feet, 3 inches tall, Trump’s body mass index measured 29.7, placing him just below the 30 threshold that medical guidelines classify as obese. His physician noted that Trump remains in strong overall health, with “cognitive and physical performance are excellent,” according to the report.

The examination revealed slight lower-leg swelling related to chronic venous insufficiency, an age-related condition Trump was diagnosed with last year. Physicians noted this condition has improved since his previous evaluation and recommended dietary adjustments, increased physical activity, and low-dose aspirin therapy.

The report documented minor bruising on Trump’s hands, which physicians attributed to “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking” and described as “a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy.”

Cognitive Assessment Results

Trump underwent the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a standard screening tool for cognitive impairment and dementia. He scored a perfect 30 out of 30, matching results from his 2025 and 2018 examinations.

His physician wrote that Trump’s “demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being.”

Context and Background

Trump, who turns 80 next month, became the oldest person elected president at the time of his 2024 election. Presidential health disclosures have long generated public interest, though no legal requirement mandates presidents release complete medical records.

The release comes as the administration emphasizes the president’s fitness for office heading into the midterm election cycle. Trump’s predecessor, President Joe Biden, left office at age 82 after withdrawing from his 2024 reelection campaign amid concerns about his age and cognitive fitness.
